UV-CIPP is a technology that uses the principle of resin heating or light curing to achieve low-carbon, environmentally friendly, fast, low-cost, and trenchless lining repair. With the superior material properties of the glass fiber lining, this technology provides a high elastic modulus, safe and reliable drainage pipe repair solution.

CIPP trenchless repair technology can produce pipes up to 500m in length at one time, with lining wall thickness ranging from 3mm to 15mm, and is flexible, fast and efficient. The core steps of this technology include pulling a glass fiber hose impregnated with cationic light-curing resin into the old pipe to be repaired, or using pre-impregnated glass fiber cloth to wrap it in local repairs and curing it with ultraviolet light (UV). The UV light source can use a mercury lamp, or a safer and more environmentally friendly LED light source (365nm wavelength is recommended), which can be photocured at a speed of 20s-60s. Cationic UV curing technology is an ideal choice for such engineering applications because it is more suitable for thick film curing and has obvious advantages in post-curing reaction. After light exposure, infrared heating or industrial hot air gun local heating can be used to quickly enhance the modulus strength of the glass fiber pre-impregnated pipe repair.

Pre-impregnated glass fiber resin application material selection:

Main resin selection:128 epoxy resin:

high hardness, corrosion resistance, excellent chemical resistance, 901/904 high molecular weight epoxy resin: good adhesion and strong flexibility.

Cationic photoinitiator:

Uyracure-180 hexafluoroantimonate sulfonium salt: suitable for mercury lamp curing and LED light source 365nm wavelength curing.

Recommended addition amount:  1-4%, liquid state, can be added directly.

Photosensitizer: PAS-33: prolongs the absorption wavelength and enhances the photoinitiation efficiency.

Recommended addition amount: 1‰-1%, in liquid state, can be added directly.

Thermal initiator:Blocked cationic curing initiator: thermal deblocking temperature 90-180℃, curing in 3-30 minutes.

Recommended addition amount:1%, dissolved in propylene carbonate at a ratio of 1:1.

Storage stabilizer:By adding storage stabilizer, EAP-6S photosensitive resin can be stored stably at room temperature as a single component.

Recommended addition amount:10-20% of the initiator content, added to the dissolved thermal initiator solution.

Fumed silica: Adding hydrophobic silica has a good reinforcing effect, helps the impregnated resin maintain good thixotropic properties, and increases the tensile strength of the film.

This technical solution not only improves the efficiency and effect of pipeline repair, but also ensures the environmental protection and safety of the construction process. With the advancement of science and technology and the development of materials science, the application prospects of cationic light-cured glass fiber impregnated cloth in UV-CIPP pipeline ultraviolet light repair projects will be broader.
