Water transfer printing technology is a kind of printing that uses water pressure to hydrolyze the transfer paper/plastic film with colored patterns. As people's requirements for product packaging and decoration increase, the use of water transfer printing is becoming more and more extensive. Its indirect printing principle and perfect printing effect solve many problems in product surface decoration.
Advantages of water transfer printing
1. Aesthetics:Any natural texture, photo or image can be transferred to the product to give it the scenery and color you want.
2. Innovation: Water transfer technology can overcome the complex shapes and dead corners that cannot be produced by general traditional printing, thermal transfer, pad printing, screen printing and surface coating.
3. Extensiveness: Applicable to surface printing of hardware, plastic, leather, glass, ceramics, wood and other products (not applicable to cloth and paper), not limited by the shape of the product, especially complex or large, long and wide products can also be decorated.
4. Personalization: As you like, I shape it, any pattern you design.
5. Efficiency: No need to make a plate, directly output the picture, and transfer it immediately (the whole process can be completed in just 30 minutes, which is most suitable for proofing).
6. Advantages: Fast proofing, curved surface printing, personalized painting and small-volume and multi-pattern non-paper and cloth printed products.
7. Environmental protection: Residues and wastewater will not pollute the environment.
There are two types of water transfer technology, one is water mark transfer technology, the other is water coating transfer technology.
The former mainly completes the transfer of text and photo patterns, while the latter tends to transfer the entire product surface completely. The coating transfer technology uses a water-based film that is easily soluble in water to carry the image and text. Since the water coating film has excellent tension, it is easy to wrap around the surface of the product to form a graphic layer, and the product surface has a completely different appearance just like spray paint. Coating on workpieces of any shape solves the problem of three-dimensional product printing for manufacturers. Curved surface coating can also add different textures to the product surface, such as leather grain, wood grain, jade grain and marble grain, and at the same time avoid the empty space that often appears in general layout printing. And in the printing process, since the product surface does not need to contact the printing film, it can avoid damaging the product surface and its integrity.
Water transfer printing uses a specially chemically treated film. After being printed with the required color patterns, it is sent flat on the surface of water. Using the effect of water pressure, the color patterns are evenly transferred to the surface of the product. At the same time, the covering film automatically dissolves in water. After cleaning and drying, a layer of transparent protective coating is applied. At this time, the product has presented a completely different visual effect.
Because the hardness of the printed layer of the water-coated film is low and it is easy to be scratched, the workpiece after the water-coated transfer must be sprayed with a transparent coating to protect it, thereby further improving the decorative effect. The use of PV transparent varnish or UV light-curing transparent varnish coating can create a matte or mirror effect.
Our company's product resin has excellent water resistance and excellent adhesion to ABS, PC, PET, glass, metal and other materials.
Market Application Water transfer printing is a process of transferring patterns to the surface of substrates through special carriers and water as the medium. Therefore, its production process and material costs are higher than those of ordinary printing, and the production process is more complicated, but it is a more versatile printing method. This is not only because it can achieve printing effects that other printing processes cannot achieve, but more importantly, it has relatively low requirements on the shape of the substrate, whether it is a flat surface, curved surface, prism or concave surface, it can meet the requirements.
