T-7131 resin is a trifunctional aliphatic urethane acrylate specifically designed for coating, ink, and adhesive applications on difficult-to-adhere surfaces such as glass, ceramic, and metal. With excellent adhesion, resistance to boiling water, fast reaction speed, and outstanding pigment wettability, it serves as an ideal choice in UV coatings, inks, and adhesives, while helping manufacturers optimize production costs.

Key Characteristics and Advantages of T-7131 Resin

As a high-performance UV resin, T-7131 offers the following key features and benefits:

Exceptional Adhesion: Demonstrates excellent cross-cut adhesion on challenging inorganic surfaces including float glass, tempered glass, ceramics, and metals, providing a solid foundation for coatings, inks, or adhesives.

Outstanding Water Resistance and Boiling Water Performance: Exhibits excellent resistance to boiling water without relying on coupling agents, maintaining stability in high temperature and high humidity environments while preserving adhesion after water immersion.

High Curing Efficiency and Hardness: Features fast reaction speed and relatively high surface hardness, helping to improve production efficiency and providing good scratch resistance to finished products.

Excellent Application Properties and Compatibility: Possesses low viscosity and superior pigment wettability, facilitating processing and aiding pigment dispersion. It allows high filler loading without significantly affecting adhesion and gloss. Compatible with various monomers, solvents, and other Trust series UV resins (such as Trust 7133, Trust 7210, Trust 7280) for easy formulation adjustments.

Good Flexibility: Enhances film toughness, ensuring excellent adhesion after water boiling and preventing brittleness.

2. Main Application Fields

T-7131 resin serves as a main resin in the following applications:

UV Inks: Particularly suitable for screen printing inks on ITO conductive glass, decorative glass, ceramics, and metals. Its high pigment wettability and filler loading capacity help ensure print quality while optimizing ink costs.

UV Coatings: Provides excellent adhesion and water protection in glass electroplating spray, glazed ceramic painting, and roller or curtain coating primer/topcoat on metal surfaces.

UV Adhesives: Delivers excellent bonding strength and transparency when used in glass and metal adhesives.

3. Formulation Applications and Cost Optimization Suggestions

In specific formulation designs, T-7131 resin can synergize with other materials to achieve optimal results and cost effectiveness:

Role in Formulations: In practical applications, T-7131 resin is often combined with other resins to balance performance. For example, when paired with high-hardness, acid-alkali resistant Trust 7133 resin, T-7131 provides boiling water resistance and flexibility, compensating for potential film embrittlement of Trust 7133 after water boiling, together formulating screen printing alkali-resistant protective inks that are both boiling water resistant and acid-alkali resistant.

Cost Reduction Potential: Due to its low viscosity and excellent pigment wettability, high filler loading can be achieved in ink formulations, helping to reduce raw material costs without significantly sacrificing performance.

Considerations for Additive Use:

Silicone-based leveling/defoaming agents should be selected and controlled carefully as they may seriously affect substrate adhesion and plating water resistance.

Adhesion promoters such as phosphate AM-330 or silane coupling agent MP-328 can be added as needed, but generally should not be mixed in the same formulation to avoid excessive catalytic reaction of silane due to high acid value.
