VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are organic compounds that contain one or more carbon atoms and are easily evaporated into the air. When volatilized into the air, VOCs will participate in atmospheric photochemical reactions. When exposed to sunlight, nitrogen oxides in the air react with VOCs to generate ground-level ozone, one of the main sources of urban air pollution. When reaching a certain level, it is harmful to animals and plants.
Due to the harm of VOCs, many countries in the world, including Canada, the United States, Europe and other countries and regions, have begun to control VOC emissions. Among the various inks used in the printing industry, except for water-based inks, other inks contain different levels of VOCs.
1) Sheetfed offset ink
There are usually 10-20% VOC (quick-drying ink) in this type of ink. Of course, there are also inks with low VOC content, with VOC content less than 10%, but the drying speed is slower.
2)Heatset web offset ink
This type of ink is usually used in high-speed printing and cured by heating. The VOC content is about 35-40%. If you want to reduce VOC emissions, you usually need to use catalytic combustion equipment for treatment
3)Water-based flexo ink
At present, environmentally friendly inks have extremely low VOC content and have replaced solvent-based inks in many fields, including film packaging printing, paper packaging printing, label printing and other fields. It has become one of the main driving forces for the development of flexo printing in recent years.
4)UV ink/EB ink
The VOC content in this type of ink is extremely low. Very in line with today's environmental needs
The resin products produced by our company have very little solvent, so the VOCs content is also very low and very green and environmentally friendly.
