What is matte?
1. Definition and matting principle
Matte UV resin is a type of UV resin. Its core function is to form a matte effect (gloss is usually less than 30° [60° measurement method]) after curing through its own chemical structure or synergistic effect with other ingredients. Traditional matte coatings need to add matte powder or wax paste to achieve matting, while matte UV resin achieves matting through the physical and chemical properties of the resin itself (such as surface microstructure or phase separation), reducing dependence on external matting agents, thereby reducing costs and improving coating performance.
2. Core characteristics
Fast curing: Curing can be completed within seconds under UV light, improving production efficiency.
Environmental protection: Low volatile organic compounds (VOC), in line with environmental protection requirements.
Versatility: It has both wear resistance, scratch resistance, anti-fouling and other properties, suitable for high-demand scenarios.
Controllable gloss: By adjusting the resin formula or process parameters (such as film thickness, UV energy), the gloss can be precisely controlled (such as 7°-15°).
3. Classification and composition
Solvent-based: such as polyurethane acrylate and epoxy acrylate, suitable for high hardness demand scenarios.
Water-based: Contains hydrophilic groups, uses water as a dispersion medium, and is more environmentally friendly, such as water-based polyurethane acrylate.
Formula composition: Usually compounded with photoinitiators and active diluents, some products require the addition of leveling agents to optimize the surface effect.
4. Application areas
Building materials and furniture: PVC flooring, wood coatings (such as cabinets, wooden floors), provide a matte protective layer and enhance durability.
Electronic products: Smartphone casings, laptop surfaces, combined with matte black UV technology to improve touch and anti-fingerprint performance.
Industrial coatings: Matte coating of OPP films, metal or plastic substrates to improve adhesion and appearance.

Special functional matte UV resin
T-7512 resin is a two-functional self-matting polyurethane acrylate UV resin with low gloss (60° angle test <30°) and good transparency. It cures quickly and has good surface dryness. It is suitable for low-energy long-wave LED light source curing. It has good adhesion to paper, film, wood, plastic, etc., and the paint film is strong and tough. It can be well soluble in various resins and monomers.

APPLICATION
UV coating: T-7512 resin is clear and transparent, does not contain matting powder or other fillers. As a film coating, it has very high transparency. When used as a matte UV coating for wood, it can clearly maintain the natural texture of wood. It has extremely low viscosity and can be applied by solvent-free roller coating or spraying.
UV adhesive: T-7512 resin is used for the matte nail seal layer. Adding less than 10% of matte powder can achieve a gloss of less than 5° and maintain excellent scratch resistance. Good transparency without whitening, the film feels smooth.
UV ink: T-7512 resin is recommended for use in UV paper printing inks, plastic BOPP matte films, non-thixotropic and low thickening.
INTERMISCIBILITY
Monomer Recommended :
AM-318 (ACMO) has high hardness and fast curing.
AM-313 (CTFA) monomer cures quickly and is flexible.
AM-319 (TBCHA) monomer improves adhesion and has good water resistance.
Matt powder: The selection of mat powder is crucial to the matting effect, scratch resistance, and final viscosity. It is recommended to use anti-scratch fillers with mat powder for better results.
Polymer: It can be well soluble with polyester, epoxy, polyurethane, phosphate, and acrylate to meet the needs of formula preparation.
